The ReSkillSpan Training for Impactful Researcher Careers is underway, bringing researchers together to strengthen practical skills for research impact, career development, and collaboration beyond academia.
The programme opened in March with Funding Your Ideas, delivered in two iterations on 11 and 26 March. These sessions focused on how researchers can move from an initial idea towards a stronger funding proposal, with attention to funding opportunities, evaluation processes, common challenges, and the path from concept to submission.
On 18 March, participants joined Innovate for Impact, a session focused on connecting research with real world change. The session invited researchers to reflect on the purpose of their work, the outcomes they want to contribute to, and the role of partnerships in creating meaningful impact.
The training continued on 14 April with Ideation, where participants explored how to shape, develop, and refine ideas. The session supported researchers in thinking creatively and practically about how early concepts can become clearer and more actionable.
Most recently, on 23 and 24 April, ReSkillSpan delivered two iterations of Managing Your Research. These sessions focused on the practical side of research work, including planning, coordination, stakeholder thinking, and managing projects in a structured way.
Together, these first sessions have created a strong foundation for the months ahead. From funding and innovation to ideation and project management, the programme is helping researchers build the skills they need to take their ideas further and create impact through their work.
